PROF. ANDREW .A. IGWEMMA (KSM)
Prof. Andrew A. Igwemma was born on June 15, 1959, at Umuekwune Irete in Owerri West LGA of Imo State Nigeria. He attended St. Paul’s Primary School Irete (FSLC) and Presentation Secondary School, Ogbaku (WASC) in 1977. Prof. Igwemma obtained a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Economics in 1987, from Imo State University, Okigwe and emerged the best graduating student. In 1991, he obtained a Master of Science Degree (Industrial Economics) from the same university. By 2012, he obtained the Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Industrial Economics) from Imo State University Owerri.
Prof. Andrew A. Igwemma, started his career in the University system as a Graduate Assistant in 1988 at Imo State University Okigwe. He rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Economics, in 2015. During this period, he successfully supervised and graduated over eighty Master of Science Degree (M.Sc/MBA) and about thirty Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) students. Prof. Andrew Igwemma has spent most of his life serving the nation through the university system where he rose to the rank of Professor. In the course of his service, he served as the Head of Unit (Economics), Coordinator Scholl of Economics, Banking and Finance, HODEconomics, Director, General Studies (GST), Director, Centre for Development Studies and Director Institute for Continuing Education Program (CEP). He has published in Local and International journals including six books. He is a member of Nigerian Economics Society and a fellow of Institute of Economics of Nigeria, and Institute of Cooperate Administration of Nigeria respectively.
Prof. Andrew A. Igwemma is the Consulting Editor of “The Social Educator” a journal of the National Association Of Social Educators and Editor in Chief of Journal of Economics and Business Sciences: a Publication Department of Economics, Imo State University Owerri. He equally served as External Examiner for Madona University, Okigwe Campus, Anambra State Clifford University Owerri Nta, Abia State Federal College of Education (Technical) Umunze, all at the undergraduate level. He also served as External Examiner at the Postgraduate level of the Ebonyi State Universities Commission (NUC) at various times.
Prof. Andrew A. Igwemma is happily married to his wife, Lady Dr. Okechi M. Igwemma (LSM) and the marriage is blessed with children.
